The school in Nehdora has had a problem of availability of drinking water for school children since a long time. During a Parents meeting on 9/9/2004 parents complained that the availability of water has affected the performance of children in school. Most of the children had to go back home to have water, and would not report back to the school. Parents stay out for work, hence are not able to pay proper attention towards the stiudies of children. Field worker Vandana Sullere whose child also studies in the school took the issue seriously, and built a pressure on parents and school for taking immediate action on the issue.
The efforts and regular discussions with the parents finally resulted in a handpump being set up in the school on 4/10/2004.
As for now the drinking water problem at the school has been solved and children are getting regular regular supply of water to drink.
