A launch event of GaliGaliSimSim was organized on 10th of November 2014 by Radio Dhadkan. The event was organized at the Government Primary School at Village NohariKalaan in Shivpuri.
Galli GalliSimSim is launching its second series of broadcast focused on diarrhoea. The episodes under this theme will be broadcasted on Radio Dhadkan on every Tuesday and Wednesday at 1:30 PM. The proposed date of broadcast is 11th November 2014.
The event started with SirnaamChandel, coordinator , GGSS at Radio Dhadkan holding a small session with the children informing them about the new session of GGSS to be broadcast from the 11th of November. He shared that the frequency reach of Radio Dhadkan has now increased and that GGSS will now be broadcast every Tuesday and Wednesday on 1:30 PM. The program will focus on diarrhoea, water borne diseases, personal hygiene, handwashing at critical times and health education. In addition to the educational component of the program, GGSS has always tried to make its program entertaining, so a entire new storyline with friends Chamki, Pumba and Googly can be enjoyed by children on Radio Dhadkan starting 11th of November 2011.
After the introduction of the program to the children the Mrs. Draupadi Sharma, Teachers was invited to interact with the students on the need of personal hygiene and how hygiene and handwash at critical times can greatly contribute in the reduction of diarrhoea threat in children. Following which demonstration session were organized for the students on Nail Cutting and Handwashing. Ms. Anita Shakya spoke on the importance of keeping uniform and school campus clean and how it makes learning healthier at family and individual level.
After participation of children in the demo sessions. A cleanliness drive was carried out in the school, where the teachers and children cleaned the entire premise of the school with a broom. After which Ramsevak Sen organized a song and games session with the children.
As a followup activity and to ensure that the messages of the session were aptly absorbed by the children a drawing competition was organized , in which children were invited to draw paintings that could reflect their perception of hygiene and diarrhoea.
As a token of thanks all the children that participated in the event were given chocolates, and crayons as return gift. A total of 43 children participated in the event.
