Objectives
of the Program
·
To organize women of this area and increase their access
to government schemes, and other rights related with
their well being.
·
To sensitize men and women on various issues related
with women equality.
·
To incorporate habit of savings in women to make them
economically independent.
·
To build capacities of women groups on record keeping,
linking them with banking process and raising social
issues through these groups.
·
To make women legally aware by training them on Acts
like PNDT, Hindu Marriage Act, Child Marriage Act, Right
to Information Act etc.
·
To advocate for ordinary men and women by formation of
CBO and organizing activities like Dharna, Rallies,
memorandums etc.
·
To aware PRI members on their roles and responsibilities
as a member of Panchayat.
·
To Organise Health Camps and refer serious patients to
district Hospital.
·
Organise School health camps to develop hygienic habits
in school children by regular monitoring and follow up.

Impact of the Activities
·
Capacities of SHG members has increased on issues of
record keeping, Inter loaning, linkages with bank, regular
meetings with regular savings.
·
These SHGs are now raising issues of Food security,
drinking water, mid day meal in schools by submitting
memorandums to higher officials on regular basis thus
increasing their dialogue with these officials. These
women could talk to them without hesitation.
·
Programs like workshop of violence against women, training
on legal rights and Acts such as PNDT, Right to
Information, Dowry Acts, Child marriage act etc. are
playing an important role in developing over all
personalities of women. These women are now solving
problems of other women by guiding them legally.
·
Regular health camps in schools have resulted in
developing hygienic habits in school children. Due to the
proper monitoring of their weight, height and nutrition
level it has become easier to analyze their all over
growth.
·
Members of community are gradually taking ownership of
school and are taking decisions of development of school
and improving quality of education.
·
As a result of advocacy done on the issue of irregular
distribution of mid day meal in school of Gurikha a
teacher was arrested in the charge of stealing grains from
school and selling them to society.
Future Directions
·
Increasing school ownership of community for self
sustainability of project.
·
Linking women SHGs with other components of project such
as school, health, female feticide and infanticide,
Library, Coaching centre, VDC an others.
·
SHGs should be empowered in taking development issues of
their village.
·
Increasing regular dialogue between Parents, Teachers and
children in schools and their linkage should give some
fruitful results for development of school in long run.
